Diversity is key!

How to make the most of your garden.

Permaculture is all about crop diversity and rotation. If one does not produce well in the season, you always have back up. And on the flipside, sometimes crops will even out grow your expectations and produce exceptionally. As an example, our Russian olives were crazy last year(2021), and not so much this year(2022), whereas this year, our squash and blueberries were awesome.

Some plants co-inhabitat, meaning the behavior, chemicals and nutrition composition of the plants/trees enhance one another.

Nitrogen fixers can be rotated with food plants. Trees can be surrounded by herbs, brush, and other plants to help conserve water. Flowering shrubs, natives, and herbs greatly compliment food plants as they attract pollinators to yield better crops.
