Today we visited the open house/plant sale held by Duane Tant @biosphereengineer in East Pensacola Heights.

For those of you who don't know, we have a rooster who visits our house... nope, he's not ours!😂

We've been wanting quail for awhile now, and we finally aquired some! These are Japanese Coturnix quail. They are 3 weeks old. We plan on keeping them for eggs, and Kai will eventually try breeding them. It will be interesting to compare them to our chickens in terms of care, temperment, ect. For now, they are just a fun addition to our permaculture journey!

Recently we've come across several little plant libraries in our neighborhood. They are a spin off of the little free book libraries that have really become popular over the last couple years. The idea is you take a plant, and leave a plant, but we usually leave more.😂

Avery: Many years ago I would take pictures with my camera using low shutter speeds at night while using fast movements. This created unique abstract photos with colorful streaks from the lights in the frame. The best time to do this was around Christmas when all the building were covered in colorful lights!
